Madagascar is a nature lover’s paradise with plenty of incredible species to seek out including a variety of lemurs, chameleons and geckos. Andasibe is home to exceptional wildlife including a total of 12 lemur species. From here you will fly to Nosy Be then travel by boat to the private island of Tsarabanjina which offers the perfect Robinson Crusoe escape in your very own piece of paradise with wonderful snorkelling and diving on offer.
Day 1: ANTANANARIVO
Today is an arrival day, so you are free to arrive at any time.
Upon arrival in Antananarivo’s Ivato Airport, you are met by a representative and transferred to Carlton Hotel or Colbert Hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure before meeting in the evening for dinner at our hotel.

Day2: ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE
This morning you will be collected by a guide and private vehicle, and transferred to Andasibe National Park, one of Madagascar’s most popular national parks which is home to lemurs including the Indi indri, the largest of the species. You will stay at Vakona Forest Lodge for three nights with breakfast and dinner included. Explore the lush rainforest with its fascinating creatures and plants with an experienced guide – lemurs found here include the grey bamboo lemur, woolly lemur, diademed sifaka and black-and-white ruffed lemur.

Day 3: ANDASIBE
Covering some 154 square kilometres, Andasibe National Park is a paradise for birders and home to more than 100 species, including many endemic individuals such as the Madagascar yellow brow, the Madagascar serpent-eagle and the blue cuoa. The daily company of the park’s knowledgeable guides will make spotting these rare specimens a memorable and informative experience and leave you wanting to return for more.

Day 4: ANDASIBE
Another day in the park provides more opportunities for exploration and wildlife viewing, with a chance to spot some of the other species resident in the park including the Indris, the largest living lemur on the island, which can reach up to one metre in height. And the beautiful surroundings back at the lodge, along with the superb food and warm Madagascar hospitality, makes time in between activities a welcome treat

Day 5: ANDASIBE- ANTANANARIVO
Following a leisurely breakfast you will be collected from the lodge and transferred back to Antananarivo, arriving back in the capital in time for lunch. The afternoon is then free to relax, or perhaps join a sightseeing tour of old Tana, the perfect way to learn more about the fascinating history of this old French colony.

Day 6: ANTANANARIVO – NOSY BE – TSARABANJINA
Today you will fly to Nosy Be, an island just off the west coast of Madagascar. Upon landing you will be met and transferred by boat to Tsarabanjina in the Mitsio archipelago. You will spend seven nights here with all meals, house drinks and non-motorised watersports included. Enjoy a Robinson Crusoe-style island escape with exceptional diving and snorkelling on offer, or if you prefer just lie back and enjoy the view from your hammock!
Day 7-10: ANTANANARIVO – NOSY BE – TSARABANJINA
The only island in the Mitsio archipelago where it is possible to stay, beautiful Tsarabanjina was the setting for Joanna Lumley’s Castaway television programme. Now there is one excellent boutique resort set within its 54, 36 acres of naturally wooded hills edged by white-sand beaches and fringing reefs. Tsarabanjina, a sacred land for the Sakalava.
- Mitsio is a collection of small islands 40 nautical miles north east of Nosy Be affording excellent diving and snorkelling on vibrant fringing coral reefs, sailing, canoeing, water skiing are good options too.
- A climb up the highest hill on Nosy Ankarea (219m), passing many interesting succulents en route, reveals spectacular views over the entire archipelago.
- Sunrise and sunset are the best times to visit Les Quatre Frères (the Four Brothers), islands of silver basalt containing huge caves with impressive overhangs and nesting seabirds such as northern gannets, white-tailed tropicbirds, and frigate birds, cormorant and fishing –eagle “Ankoay” which is an endangered species.
Day 11: TSARABANJINA –NOSY BE – ANTANANARIVO
Today you will be transfered by boat from Tsarabanjina to Nosy Be. Upon landing you will be assisted to your internal flight to Antananarivo. On arrival you will be able to check in for your international flight home, marking the end of your Madagascan adventure.
