Day 1 : ARRIVE IN ANTANANARIVO

  • Meet your in-country representative at the airport before setting out on this unique Malagasy adventure.
  • Please be aware that your driver will be waiting for you at the International Arrival gate.
  • An airport sign with your name should be seen and you may have to look for a logo if the airport gets overcrowded. If you cannot locate your driver please remain calm and approach the Airport Welcome Service.
  •  An announcement intended for your driver can be broadcasted there, and this will then become the rally point. In the case of an emergency or you cannot locate your driver, the emergency contact details are on your documents and you should call the mentioned numbers before attempting to leave the airport. 
  • You will be given your welcome package including maps and more, then be transferred to your hotel.
  • Overnight at  Havana Resort Hotel.

Day 2 : ANTANANARIVO- ANDASIBE –MANTADIA

  • Depart from the Madagascar capital, Antananarivo, and travel along the hillside twisty roads towards the Eastern part of the island.
  • The first scheduled stop will be in Marozevo at the Pereyras reserve for the first glimpse of Madagascar’s unique biodiversity and fantastic Chameleon Sanctuary.
  • Continue along to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, and start the discovery tour of the nocturnal animals and primates that inhabit this unique and distinctive National Park.
  • Diner and Overnight at Vakona Lodge or Similar

Day 3 : ANDASIBE –MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK

  • A private vehicle with driver will be at your disposal for the day.
  • Begin the day with a hike through the rainforest to discover the natural Malagasy flora and fauna, as well as the famous Indri lemurs. The Indri lemur is one of the largest in size and has a lovey thick black and white coat. The Indri is well known for its loud, distinctive songs, this helps you to locate them within the forest. Other lemurs which can be seen in this area include the red-bellied lemur, brown lemur and the lesser bamboo lemur. The park is also a place of habitat for some nocturnal lemur species including the brown mouse lemur, greater dwarf lemur, eastern woolly lemur, sportive lemur and if you are lucky, the elusive nocturnal Aye Aye.
  •  During your rainforest exploration enjoy a stop for some relaxation at a picturesque waterfall. This day tour is filled with beautiful landscapes and a variety of habitual wildlife.
  • After lunch, you will visit the island of Vakona to see other species of lemurs, crocodiles, fosa and birds.

Day 4 : ANDASIBE –MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK-ANTANANARIVO

  • Enjoy your private guided tour in the Mantadia National Park. You will search for the largest lemur of Madagascar: the famous « Indri Indri » aka « Babakoto » in Malagasy.
  • This lemur is endemic to the site and is its icon. Through a 3-hour easy hike, you’ll discover at least two groups of Indri Indri. You will also find various species of lemurs, birds, chameleons and the endemic flora including orchids, medicinal plants, etc.
  • Enjoy your private vehicle transfer from Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and Antananarivo. The drive will take approximately 3 hours.

Day 5: ANTANANARIVO- MORONDAVA

  • Enjoy a private vehicle transfer to/from the Antananarivo International Airport.
  • Relax during this short flight between Antananarivo and Morondava.
  • A private vehicle with driver will be at your disposal for the day.
  • Enjoy your private visit this morning at the Kirindy Reserve. Kirindy is a privately managed forest in one of Madagascar’s most threatened ecosystems; its dry deciduous forests. It is famous for the giant jumping rat, but is also home to seven species of lemur, a number of endemic reptiles, flora and other unique species.
  • The visit will take between 2 and 4 hours and it includes a delicious picnic lunch served at the Kirindy restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, you will have a private guided tour of the Alley of Baobabs, and will have the opportunity to enjoy the sunset. Along the Alley there are roughly 20 – 25 trees about 30 meters in height, and of the species “Adansonia Grandidieri”, endemic to Madagascar. Some of these Baobab trees are up to 800 years old, and are locally referred to as “Renala” which translates from Malagasy as “Mother of the Forest ». This area was once a dense tropical forest, and these trees did not originally tower in isolation over the landscape. Over time, as the country’s population grew, the forests were cleared for agricultural purposes, leaving only the Baobab trees.

Day 6: MORONDAVA- BEKOPAKA

  • After your breakfast, a private vehicle will pick you up and provide a transfer to Bekopaka, the gateway to the Tsingy.
  • During this scenic drive, you will pass through the dry and spiny forest of Kirindy, cross the Tsiribihina River and make your way through some quaint little villages.
  • Keep your keen eye’s on a swivel as this area is also known for its vast bird and wildlife population.

Day 7: BEKOPAKA/ TSINGY OF BEMARAHA

  • Enjoy your private guided tour of the Tsingy de Bemaraha Strict Nature Reserve.
  •  You will meet your experienced park ranger guide for this memorable Great Tsingy hike. During this hike your guide will take you on an exploratory tour through the deep caves and high peaks of the Tsingy’s labyrinth.
  •   This Mecca of wildlife boasts over eleven lemur species, such as the fat-tailed dwarf lemur, numerous families of bats, and hundreds of diverse bird species, like Madagascar’s endemic Henst’s Goshawk.

Day 8: TSINGY OF BEMARAHA – MORONDAVA

  • Enjoy your private vehicle transfer from Bekopaka to Morondava.
  • Depart this morning from Bekopaka back to Morondava where your privately driven vehicle will make a stop at the famous Alley of Baobabs for the sunset.  Along the Alley in some 260 meter long segment is roughly some 20 – 25 trees about 30 meters in height, and of the species “Adansonia Grandidieri”, endemic to Madagascar.

Day 9: MORONDAVA- ANTANANARIVO

  • After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo, where a transfer will take you to your hotel in the city of Antananarivo, the picturesque capital of Madagascar.
  • You can wander through the capital’s steep and narrow streets, taking in its architecture, atmosphere and pace. Or you can climb up to the old rova (palace) and enjoy the views over Antananarivo and the surrounding countryside.
  • The town is at its best in the evening when the setting sun spectacularly illuminates its hillsides.

Day 10: ANTANANARIVO- ANKARAFANTSIKA

  • After the breakfast we will drive to Maevatanana where is the city nested at the bottom of basin, resulting in an oppressively hot climate.
  • After lunch, we head straight western to reach Ankarafantsika through the dry deciduous forest with great number of birds.
  • Arrival at Ankarafantsika we will check your hotel.
  •  Dinner and overnight at Gite d’Ampijoroa.

Day 11: ANKARAFANTSIKA NATIONAL PARK

  • Excursion in the Forest station in the natural reserve of Ankarafantsika, which contains the fully protected example of dry western forest in Madagascar, and the 70 species of the reptiles.
  • It is a home for eight lemur species including Coquerel’s sifaka, brown lemur and four nocturnal: sportive, woolly, grey mouse and fat-tailed lemur.
  •  It is also the best place for the bird- watchers.
  • Nocturnal visit is starting to find the tiny lemur.
  • Dinner and overnight at Gite d’Ampijoroa.

Day 12: ANKARAFANTSIKA -MAHAJANGA

  • Continue to Mahajanga, along the way, you will explore Amboromalandy wetland where you will also discover several species of Birds.
  • The afternoon is at leisure
  • Night and dinner at Karibo lodge.

Day 12: MAHAJANGA -ANTSANITIA (Beach)

  • Drive from here to Antsanitia Beach. Antsanitia lies on Morira River’s edge, it is about 25km from Mahajanga on small plateau between Morira and Ocean .It allows the visitors to have panoramic view and beautiful sunset.
  • Free time in the afternoon.
  • Dinner and Overnight at Antanitia hotel.

Day 13-14: ANTSANITIA (Beach)

  • Antsanitia offers you the perfect coastal retreat and many sea activities you could practice here as stream up on Morira river by canoe to visit Mangrove and medicinal plants, fishing
  • Lunch in the Restaurant.
  • Enjoy the sunset on the beach before you will have dinner; seafood is best choice.
  • Dinner and Overnight at Antanitia hotel.

Day 15: MAHAJANGA– ANTANANARIVO

  • For those who want not fly back to Tana, after early  breakfast drive back to Tana by car it’s 09 hours driving.
  • Upon arrival in Antananarivo, we will then enjoy an afternoon guided walking tour of the old city, learning about the country’s royal history at the Rova palace complex and enjoying a view out across the city.
  • In the evening,  you will a enjoy farewelll dinner as you say goodbye and then transfer to Airport to check in your flight back home
